Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of mebo — the desktop application, the mebo.dev website, the mebo editor bridge addon, and the services behind them (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

mebo is a standalone AI IDE for the Godot game engine. It lets you direct AI models to read, write and modify project files on your machine, query documentation, and drive the Godot editor through an optional bridge addon. Parts of the Service require an account and an active plan or credit balance.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information when you create an account and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service, and at least 18 to purchase a paid plan.

3. Plans, credits and billing

Paid plans are billed as subscriptions through our payment processor, Stripe. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of usage credits; different AI models consume credits at different rates, shown in the app.
Unused monthly credits do not roll over unless we say otherwise. Credits have no cash value and are not redeemable or transferable.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel or change your plan at any time from your account page; the change takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Unless required by law, payments are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@mebo.dev and we'll take a look.
We may change prices or plan contents with notice before your next renewal.

4. Your content and your code

Your projects belong to you. mebo runs against files on your own machine and claims no ownership of your code, assets, prompts, or anything the Service generates for you. To operate the Service we need a limited licence to process the content you submit — for example, sending the relevant parts of your project and your prompts to AI model providers to produce a response. We use it for that purpose, not to build a product out of your code. We do not train AI models on your content.

5. AI output

AI-generated code and content can be wrong, insecure, or similar to other code the underlying model has seen. You are responsible for reviewing output before you rely on it, ship it, or publish it. mebo shows you diffs for a reason. The Service is a tool, not a substitute for your judgement, and we make no promise that generated code is free of defects or of third-party claims.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

break the law, or use the Service to build something designed to harm others;
resell, share, or pool account access, or use automation to extract model usage beyond what your plan is priced for;
probe, overload, or interfere with the Service, or attempt to access other users' accounts or data;
misuse the affiliate program — self-referrals, spam, or misleading promotion (the affiliate page has the program's own terms);
circumvent usage limits, credit metering, or safety measures of mebo or of the underlying AI model providers.

7. Software licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run the mebo desktop application for use with the Service. The mebo editor bridge addon is open source under its own MIT licence. Godot is an independent open-source project; mebo is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Godot Engine project.

8. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties — AI model providers, payment processing, authentication, and hosting. Their availability affects ours, and their terms apply to the portions of the Service they provide. We may change which providers or models we offer as the landscape changes.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the Service, or create risk for us or other users — where practical, we'll warn you first. On termination your right to use paid features ends; sections of these terms that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) survive.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, mebo will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost profits, lost data, or corrupted projects — and our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Plain-English version: back up your projects, use version control, and review what the agent does. We work hard to make mebo reliable, but an AI writing to your filesystem is a power tool, and you're the one holding it.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. If a change is material we'll give notice — in the app, by email, or on this page — before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
