AI for building real games,
right inside Godot.

mebo is a standalone AI IDE that understands your Godot project — scenes, scripts, signals and all. It plans, edits and runs your game through the live editor, and every change waits for your approval.

Free to try. No credit card required.

An agent in your project,
not a chatbot in a tab.

mebo opens your project folder alongside the Godot editor and works with the same things you do: scenes, nodes, scripts, signals and diagnostics.

🗺️

Knows your whole project

Live index of scenes, scripts and signals — the agent reads your project map before it touches a line, so answers fit your game.

You approve every change

Edits arrive as reviewable diffs. Nothing is written to disk or the scene tree until you accept it.

🔌

Live editor bridge

A tiny addon connects mebo to the running editor: inspect the live scene tree, edit nodes, wire signals, press play — straight from chat.

📚

Grounded in the Godot docs

Exact signatures and semantics from the official class reference for your Godot version — not a model's fuzzy memory.

🧠

Real diagnostics loop

GDScript checks via Godot's language server and C# via dotnet build. The agent verifies its own edits before calling them done.

🛠️

GDScript and C#

Auto-detects your project's script language and follows its conventions — typed GDScript or idiomatic C#, your call.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about mebo and using AI with the Godot Engine. More in our Godot AI guide.

Is mebo free to use?

mebo is free to try — the Trial plan includes 100 credits with no credit card required and core models like Gemini 3.1 Pro and Haiku. Paid plans start at $20/month: Pro adds Claude Sonnet 5, GPT-5.6 Sol and Kimi K3, while Claude Opus 5 and Fable 5 are exclusive to Advanced ($60/month) and above. One-time credit top-ups that never expire are available on any plan.

What is the best AI for Godot?

The best AI for Godot is one that understands Godot itself — scenes, nodes, signals and GDScript — not just generic code. Generic assistants often mix Godot 3 and Godot 4 APIs and can't see your scene tree. mebo is built only for Godot: it indexes your whole project, edits scenes through a live bridge to the editor, grounds answers in the official docs for your Godot version, and submits every change as a diff you approve.

Does mebo work with GDScript and C#?

Yes. mebo auto-detects your project's script language and follows its conventions — typed GDScript or idiomatic C#. It also verifies its own edits: GDScript through Godot's language server and C# with dotnet build.

Will the AI change my project without asking?

No. Every edit arrives as a reviewable diff, and nothing is written to disk or the scene tree until you accept it. You stay in charge of every change.

Does mebo replace the Godot editor?

No — mebo works alongside the Godot editor. It opens your project folder as a standalone AI IDE, and a small addon bridges it to the running editor so the agent can inspect the live scene tree, edit nodes, wire signals and press play. You keep using Godot exactly as before.

Which platforms does mebo support?

mebo runs on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows and Linux, with auto-updates built in. Live editor features require Godot 4.2 or newer.

How is mebo different from Godot AI plugins?

Plugins run inside the Godot editor and are limited to what an editor dock can do. mebo is a full desktop IDE with its own chat, diff review and project index, connected to the editor through a live bridge — agentic editing, docs grounding and a real diagnostics loop, without giving up in-editor control. See how it compares in our Godot AI guide and mebo vs Ziva.
